Josephine "Jody" Brown

Josephine Brown was the fifth child of six children. She was born at Cook County hospital, to Willie Foster Brown Sr. and Annie Sue Lee Brown of Abbeville, South Carolina. She was proceeded in death by her father Willie Foster Brown Sr., her mother Annie Sue Lee Brown; One brother Arthur Odell Lee; Two sisters Annie Bell Lee Brown Young, her baby sister Pauletta Sue Brown; Two nieces Lattia Baumister, and Moné Shanice Miller. Josephine grew up in the Church, no matter where she lived, she found a Church, and she believed in God and Jesus his son. Jody attended school in Evanston Illinois, where she went to Noyes Elementary, Haven Middle School, and Evanston Township High School. It was in High School that she became the Vintage Diva. Jody loved thrift stores. From Evanston to the Chicago Suburbs, to down South, wherever she traveled or lived she would find a thrift store. She purchased vintage clothing, shoes, and sometimes furniture. She had a knack for it. She could spot anything on a rack or in a pile of clothes. The look on her face was always priceless with her finds. Like finding diamonds in a haystack. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two sisters and one brother, Virginia Brown, of Elgin, IL, Willie Foster Brown Jr. (Euchiquita), of Elgin, IL, Chris Sandra Brown, of Elgin, IL; nine nieces and nephews. Her first niece that was very special to her, Sherée Tenese Williams, Jackie Young Jr., Anthony Tyrone Foster Sr., Larry Doby Young, Taniia Brown, D’Angelo Brown, Olivia Sue Miller, Dr. Bre Thomas. 22 great nieces and nephews; Ralph Leslie, Serenity Tenese Williams, Felipe Micheal Williams Jr., Blessa Bowen, Michael Baumister, Lola Grace Baumister, Nahmya Baumister, Destiny Aliana Foster, Anthony Tyrone Foster Jr., Noah Foster, Montez Denzel Miller, Marsalis Devon Miller, Cameron Howard, Carmelo Howard, Shanice Mone Miller, Harmony Shanice Miller, Aliana Grace Gunn, Amari Thompson, Elijah Young, Asher Young, Genesis Young, and Jackie Young III. One Special Aunt, Ella Francis Elizabeth Brown, and a host of cousins and friends. Although Jody did not have any children of her own. She was the second Mom and Grandma to many. Josephine was caring and loving to anyone she met, especially children. Anyone she encountered called her “Auntie Jody.” It didn’t matter who she was, or you were, she was your Auntie Jody. Although they called her “Auntie Jody”, Jody was much more to MANY than most would ever know, as Jody took care of other people when it mattered the most, and they took care of her.
